About Us

        Griffin Landscaping Co. was founded in March of 2005 by John Griffin.  Having grown up in Hinsdale and taught a strong work ethic from a young age, John began cutting lawns for locals in grade school.  By the time he had finished high school at Hinsdale Central, business had grown significantly.  However, having decided to attend Miami University (Ohio), it was obviously something he could not continue out of state.  After receiving a bachelors in economics, John began taking classes in ornamental horticulture to further his education.  Having a deep passion for the outdoors, the environment, and time to travel, landscaping seemed to be the ideal occupation for him.  

        Since opening Griffin Landscaping, John has been continuously working in the field with his crews, attending trade shows, and taking classes on the newest trends in the landscaping field.  He has been devoted to servicing and being active in his local community and adjacent suburbs.  With a dedication to using native species, he admits that designing gardens is his favorite part of landscaping.  

        "Nothing pleases me more than being able to take something that is non-functional or blatantly detracts from a property and turning it into a colorful unique landscaping that invites people to enjoy their outdoor living space.  Beautifying and problem solving satisfy both the artist and mathematician in me."
